Other Important Information
-
It is important to me that you feel safe, and that’s where the work begins! Building a therapeutic relationship and getting to know each other. In the first session, I take the lead by asking questions about you to understand how I can best support you.
This may include asking questions about your background and history, childhood experiences, previous and current relationships, as well as any struggles or challenges you may be experiencing.
-
I understand that life happens and cancellations come up!
I kindly ask clients to cancel their appointment with 24 hours' notice. Please be aware that cancellations within the 24-hour window or in the event of a no-show will result in clients being charged the full appointment fee.
-
I offer in-person services every Friday (located at 333 Vickers St. S) and virtual services on Monday & Tuesday evenings.
-
I do not provide direct billing at this time. Please check with your insurance provider to see what coverage is available to you. A copy of your invoice will be provided at the end of each session to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
-
Payment is due at the end of each session. I accept e-transfer or credit card.
-
I take my role as a Psychotherapist seriously and maintaining confidentiality is one way that I do that. Everything you share with me is confidential and kept safe.
Information discussed in sessions will not be disclosed to third parties without your knowledge and written consent, except in the following circumstances where disclosure may be required or permitted by law: (a) if there is reasonable belief that you may pose a risk of serious harm to yourself or another person’ (b) if there is suspicion that a vulnerable person is in need of protection; (c) to comply with a court order or otherwise as required by a court of law.
The name of Birdie’s Nest Psychotherapy holds a special place in my heart. Inspired by my daughter, “Birdie,” she is a source of my inspiration and pride, but also represents my family's female lineage. Combined with “Nest”, another word for home, comfort or safety, which is exactly what I want my clients to feel when they are in session with me.
